OMEGA SPEEDMASTER OM0401（Ceramic Ring）

Marking the first use of an "all-ceramic" construction, the latest Omega Speedmaster "Dark Side of the Moon" watch is crafted from ceramic—an inorganic, non-metallic material created through high-temperature firing. This material enables the production of high-density watch components with exceptional mechanical properties. Ceramic is a highly sought-after material among watch buyers, prized for its striking, diverse colors and unique characteristics: it is half the weight of stainless steel and offers wear resistance, high scratch resistance, chemical inertness, hypoallergenic qualities, and non-magnetic properties. The watch features a 44.25mm case and houses a blackened movement; laser ablation technology is used on the movement bridges to recreate the realistic appearance of the lunar surface, paying tribute to the Speedmaster's outstanding contribution to the Apollo 8 mission. Through the black anodized aluminum skeletonized dial, one can clearly see the near side of the moon (visible from Earth), while the caseback reveals the "Dark Side of the Moon" (the far side)—a view previously seen only by astronauts.

The watch is fitted with a striking black micro-perforated rubber strap featuring a yellow rubber lining. The entire timepiece is crafted from black ceramic; the central chronograph seconds hand is finished in yellow lacquer, and the bezel bears a tachymeter scale in bright white enamel, created via laser engraving. The small seconds hand is crafted from Grade 5 titanium and uniquely shaped to resemble the Saturn V rocket. This 3D form is created using laser turning technology, with distinct color effects achieved through white lacquer application, laser ablation, and laser blackening processes.
